Overview

After a hard session in the gym you're going to need a protein powder that is quickly absorbed so that your body can make best use of it.

Hydrolysed Whey Protein is a whey protein that has had some of its amino acid peptide bonds broken enzymatically into shorter chains of aminos which, in turn, leads to better absorption in the stomach.

This is one of the most advanced whey protein supplements available and is for the serious trainer/athlete.

Our Hydrolysed Whey Protein is regarded as one of the best quality hydrolysates available in the world and is produced by a controlled enzyme treatment of whey protein. The enzyme treatment is mild and is carefully monitored, leaving the essential amino acids intact and retaining the high quality of protein.

The molecular weight is greater than 7000 dalton 20% max, whilst he Degree of Hydrolysis (DH) is 13%. This protein does have a bitter taste due to its pre-digested state.

The amino acid profile can be found at the bottom of the page under 'Certificates'.

myprotein's own strawberry flavouring. BUT ONLY STRAWBERRY!!!!
  • Comment:
Very effective used post workout (immediately after). I take 40g of this which provides my body with exactly what it's screaming out for within a couple of minutes of consuming. I would like to think that because of this it would also practically eliminate catabolism.

*Mr O. Naylor*\nYou cant compare this to 'Cyclone',just by adding Creatine to the 'Hydrolysed Whey Protein'. You will also need to add Glutamine, HMB and sum form of fast Carb's. I suggest you buy Hurricane XS and do a comparison on that. \nFor 2 months my PWO has comprised of Hydrolysed Whey Protein 20g, Acid Whey Protein 15g, Creapure Creatine 5g, Glutamine Peptide 4g and 1 banana. Without doubt the addition of 'Hydrolysed Whey Protein' has slowly but surely improved my physique, not by a massive margin but enough for me to notice it. In my opinion it is worth buying this. As you only need to supplement with 'Hydrolysed Whey Protein' after a workout,it will last.

This is a brilliant product, being pre-digested it is perfect for \"peri\" workout nurition. I've had huge results since using this along with dextrose and malto. The reason it misses out on 5 stars is because it tastes absolutely foul.

I have customised my own post-workout formula of 50% waxy maize starch, 40% hydrolysed whey protein and 10% L-leucine. It is probably the best post-workout shake i have taken as it gets into the bloodstream super-fast=super-fast repair!. Make sure you get it with a flavouring and a good sweetener though!. Give it a try!

This stuff really is great for post-workout. However, the taste really is diabolical. My Pst workout shake is hydrolyzed, isolate, dextrose, maltodextrin, and creatine...alone, this wud taste awful, simply blend in a couple of banana's and you're :D:D\r\n\r\n

WOW! On the one hand, this stuff is bitter and some would say it tastes like shit. On the other hand, although reminiscent of a generic horlics-style drink made with just water, it might just actually work.\r\n\r\nI've been taking it after my workouts since the end of November (although I perhaps haven't worked out as much as I could and pretty much not at all over yule) and I must admit I haven't felt my tissue as full as they have done since I've been taking it I can definitely feel myself filling out.\r\n\r\nThe first time I took hwp I just mixed 30g in a pint of water and drank it down. Damn it tasted bitter, but then I'd read the warning on the website so new this wasn't going to be a sharp twist of lemon.\r\n\r\nThe second time, however, it really wasn't half as bad, in fact, I found it quite palatable. I have since bought some waxy maize starch and have 30g of each post workout sure it's not the most wonderful taste in the world, but hey, it's good for you so you can be a little more tolerant about such things as taste! -)\r\n\r\nSeriously though, I've found you can over the come the taste when you feel the difference after each workout and your post work out shake!\r\n\r\nThe hwp is expensive, but hey, treat yourself to a kilo along with some waxy maize starch (as long as you're not a fussy eater) and you should feel a difference too.\r\n\r\nI do look forward to my PWO shake!

yes it does taste minging but its the best pwo drink mix it with a split of dextrose and palatinose and it won't taste half as bad promise i mix it with 35g dextrose and 40g palatinose and wham no problems. cause the dextrose is sweet it gets ride of the bitter taste of the whey. this is the best pwo you can drink. do it . 4 stars due to expensive but it mst be alot for some reason\n

OK so the stuff tastes bad, but that's what flavouring systems were designed for. However, add 10g of leucine to 50g of HWP and you create a very anabolic environment. I don't know why people complain about a few moments of oral discomfort. Do these people complain that the weight is too heavy or that they don't like doing cardio? You have to make sacrifices to get what you want. Man up and drink up!

You really cant find this product cheaper anywhere else. This is absolutely ideal for using post w/o, due to its ease and speed of digestion. The smell and taste, well its basically exactly the same as 'Head & Shoulders' shampoo, no lie. Best thing to do is mix 20g of this, with 30g of your regular whey protein. For post w/o, i mix this with 50g Waxy Maize, 5g leucine and a serving of Universal Nutrition 'Storm' in grape flavour, for the ultimate post w/o shake.

It's the best thing iv'e had in 30 years of training.whats happened to the modern man? he's just like a little girl.

It may seem like you get less. Remember that much more of the protien is being absorbed and not wasted. It represents real value! Even try 500grms in 5kg of your own mix.\n\n

... It's extremely bitter taste.\n\nI have been attempting to use Berry Blast flavouring in large quantities to mask the taste somewhat, as well as adding some sweetener (malto + citric acid + sucralose) to make it manageable. \n\nIt is a truly fine powder that mixes instantly.\n\nGreat product

this stuff does what it says on the tin, ultra fast, high quality protein.\non to the taste, when i first tried this half a year ago yes it tasted like sick, but after a couple of weeks you start to enjoy it, it tells you that you're working hard. and anyway, remember that this has a 2 star taste rating, there is worse stuff and you will notice the flavour less the more you have\n\nthis stuff works great p w/o when mixed with with Waxy maize starch 30-70 and your favourite aminos added on top. remember though that carbs are more essential for recovery than protein, so make sure that you get them in there

Someone has got to give this to Jamie Oliver and get him to do hi stuff with it! Fook me.\n\nWorks like a treat but as everyone has said MyProtein ain't going to win any Micheline stars for this one.\n\nI found three ways to make it taste pretty good though. I half fill my shaker with pure orange and throw a 70ml scoop of HWP in and it pretty much becomes tasteless - can only taste the orange.\n\nThrow a scoop of it in a bottle of lucosade and again it becomes fairly tasteless. I take a bottle of this with me to the gym and drink it whilst training - kill two birds with one stone.\n\nOr be some kind of sadistic hardcore bastard and mix it with literally one mouthful of water and neck it.\n\nI switch between all three methods to add a little variety to my mornings :)

This comment will probably get removed but it is my honest opinion. At xmas i used maximuscle cyclone, i put half a stone on in 2 weeks and i increased 10k on the bench, since i have used my protein coz it is cheaper. However, you get what you pay for, i have seen no improvement since using this protein in conjuction with myprotein creatine.

Still the same premium protein source and #1 for post w/o. But the taste has greatly improved since the last batch i purchased last year, almost neutral when mixed with a flavoured product.\n\nMix 20g of this with your post w/o concoction, as studies have shown 20g of fast digesting protein is the optimal component to stimulate maximum protein synthesis at this time.

You're all going to love me for this!\nI also think the taste is horrible, to take the edge off add half a tea spoon of decaf coffee and problem solved. It has to be decaf because I read somewhere that caffine cancels out the benefits of protein. let me know what you think.\nGreat Protein

I started taking this 4 weeks ago in conjunction with MP max creatine and L-glutamine. As a trio they have worked really well, I have 2cm more on my biceps and I can lift more weight at the gym so Im happy. I know 2cm doesnt sound a lot but it is a noticeable difference and gives you the motivation to keep getting your ass back in the gym.

No stomach problems and i looked forward to having my next glass of this stuff as it helped me train 7 days a week with no problems. i have just received my second batch this time ordering 2.5 kg. Go and get it forget the taste it's not supposed to be a treat.

I heard about this pre digested protein and as blends give me a lot of wind i thought i would try it. I have to give it to MP, in my opinion they have created the most digestable protein yet. It mixes easily with water and a quick shake and i didn't get any stomache cramps with it. I have also made some good results whilst using it, although it is always hard to say if that is the training or the product. Infact the only thing is the nasty taste. Yes it is very nasty. Tastes like sour milk if you are wondering. On the other hand if you are like me you will give anything a go if it helps put on mass (legally of course). I highly recomend it if you can put up with drinking sour milk twice a day. I have just ordered again. I'm trying the Isolate next so i can compare. I'll let you all know the results. I will definatly buy this product again by the way.

I have been using this stuff 5 times a day for 6 months or more now with no problems at all. \nIt is much, much more digestible than impact or isolate and I have made considerably more gains while using this than I did in the same amount of time using impact or isolate (and without the belly ache).\nThe bad taste is easily got rid of by using Myprotein's own Strawberry flavouring. \nPlease note that only the strawberry flavouring is effective though!!!\nI recommend (through trial and error) a 40g shake straight after work out followed by enough evenly spaced 30g shakes throughout the day so as to consume 1g of protein/lb bodyweight per day. \nDo not consume more than 30g in one shake (apart from after work out) because your body cannot digest more than this in one go and you will waste it!!!!

This is the first suppliment that I have ever tried. After reading some of the reviews I was really put off about trying this product out but I went ahead anyway. The first time I opened the pouch I thought the smell was a bit off putting, then I mixed up my first glass and it took me a couple of minutes before I thought sod it just neck it !!! Yes it is a little bitter but not that bad. The second time I made a glass the taste didnt even bother me. I have been using it now for about 3 weeks and it seems to be doing what it says on the tin. If your thinking about buying this product dont be put off by reviews from others who would, by the sounds of things, much prefer a bannana milk shake and a sauna.

It feels like I'm drinking liquid power after a workout. This stuff feeds so quickly to where it's needed it's almost unreal. \n\nTo the people complaining about the taste. Firstly it's bitter. Secondly it has no taste. If you really can't stomach it, then go for a mix of dextrose/whey after your workout, the sweetness will counteract the bitterness and you'll have a nice balance. \n\nTo conclude: While it's a powerful supplement, it IS on the expensive side and for that, I can only give it 4 stars.\n\nGreat job with this one MP.

Just switched from Whey Isolate to this for post workout. The taste: When you have thrown up in the past, afterwards you have that mingin, acid, bile sicky taste left in your mouth? This tastes exactly the same! Everytime I drink it it makes all the hairs on my arms stand on end and makes me shiver like f***. I'll review the results at a later date :-#

As other reviews state, this tastes like sick. Vomit, puke, throw-up. Yep, it is rancid. But enough of that, add some nesquik (or indeed MP strawberry flavouring) and you're well on your way. I personally use this to pad out my Promax Diet (Maximuscle - I started with this stuff and though I'm sure there are better out there, I've created a bond...). It gives great gains and is kind to your gut...

As someone who takes DMAE every day, this actually doesn't taste that bad when you pop a qtr teaspoon of flavouring in (and I add some Xylitol, too, as I made up my own Promax Diet mixture for significantly less!)\n\nObvi the one I made up is much better as it is 100% hydrolysed whey and not a very small percentage. \n\nIt mixes VERY VERY well indeed. Comes in the biggest 1kg pouch I've seen (compared to some of the other wheys :)\n\nPleased with product.
