Overview

Instant Oats are a fantastic source of low Glycemic Index (GI) carbohydrates ideal for fuelling your exercise routine.

We have sourced the very finest Scottish Oats and milled them down in to an ultra fine powder to provide a slow release, low GI carbohydrate which can be easily consumed as a drink when mixed with your preferred liquid.

Instant Oats are an extremely healthy source of carbohydrates as they provide a sustained flow of energy to the body. This makes them the ideal choice for anyone looking to fuel their exercise or simply boost their carbohydrate intake throughout the day. As a slowly absorbed form of carbohydrate, Instant Oats provide a less profound effect on blood sugar levels when compared to Dextrose or Maltodextrin. The ultra fine form makes them extremely convenient as they maintain all the nutrients and benefits of 'normal' oats, and they taste fantastic!

The versatility of Instant Oats allows you to add them to your existing supplement shake, consume them on their own or even add them to certain foods like yoghurt, smoothies and baked goods

I have just tried this with water, people are saying milk is the better option i now know to stay with that as the water makes it stay very sandy textured in your mouth, will be writing again once i have finished my 5kg bag.

I've been using this for the past month or so mixing one scoop of oats with one scoop of choc whey protein, and milk in an MP shaker. I use it either post-training or as a quick breakfast. Mixes well, tastes fine, and does what you'd expect. Will keep buying as it's a useful and versatile carb source to have sitting around.

I've tried all flavours and all combinations of protein powders and can't escape the frothy milkshake which I hate. Mixed Instant Oats with Total Protein (both unflavoured), added a little fructose to sweeten, and wow. Tastes great, bit like breakfast oats in a drink and texture is much better.

I cannot recommend this stuff enough! I mix 2 scoops of this with 1 scoop of whey protein and a teaspoon of L Glutamine every morning and drink with my breakfast. I also use for my post workout shake. My tip when mixing this would be to put the liquid in first, followed by the powders as this prevents any lumps a bit better.

If you were considering this and you've read the other comments you're likely to try it yourself anyway. All I would add is that this mixes and tastes better than some make out, and is suprisingly something of a sweet treat (with flavoured protein) if you're on a particularly strict diet.

oats are a must to make solid muscles, these ones are very thin and mix very well with protein powder, just by hand shaking the bottle! You hardly see any flakes. I also tried Bulkpow- oats and those are much thicker, I'll always buy these from MyPro- as a result, also shipment to Ireland (ROI) is half price compared to most other UK sites (ok it's a bit slower, not much though) , good stuff!

(at a brilliant price)\r\n\r\nThe taste isnt too strong, to be honest i cant really taste it in milk which is great seeing as i dont really like the taste of oats.\r\nIts a shame it doesnt mix as well as some of the other powders, i gave it a 4 not 5 because you can definatley feel the grains of oats going down which isnt pleasent to me.\r\n\r\nBut overall a very good product and will be purchasing more ...

Finally we the people get to choose...imagine years of 'leading brands' offering us protein/ meal replacements/ weight gainers full of harmfull articfical ingredients. Products mainly aimed at the fast food palate of the US market. Not in Europe baby! Try this blend for the hardest gainer...100 grams of finely ground oats, unflavoured/unsweetened 80% Euro concentrate whey, a spoonfull of peanut butter and some honey. Blend it and taste the goodness.\r\n\r\nThank MP- keep it up!

Look at all the 5 star ratings. This product is really, really good. I cannot believe how well it mixes. You CANNOT detect it in the drink like normal oats, it is not gritty or anything, it is truly amazing. Oats are extremely good for you. You can easily mix this into any drink or on cereal or anything and get a good dose of healthy oats. And cheap, too. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. This should be a staple of anyone's diet, the sort of thing you have at breakfast at least 4-5 times a week. Give them a go I think you will agree.

It really is ultra fine, no home blender will do it like this. The price is pretty good in comparison to toehr bulk suppliers. The one thing is the taste, its very unusual, someone earlier described it as wallpaper paste? I would aggree with that. Home blended oats does not have this flavour.. Still, it s a smal quibble, mix 100g with a scoop or whey and it isn't half bad, I am using it to bulk

Just started using this product as i normally use a lot of maltodextrin or weight gainers which get sickly after a while, porridge is a great source of carbs and some good fats and excellent for bulking up or used moderately for shaping up, normally not nice at all and hard to eat. But with this powder form you just add to your favourate protein drink and enjoy, great value and easy to consume. Try mixing 100g with 40g protein powder such as whey to gain more mass or 40g with 40g protein to get in shape! Great stuff

Congratulations to Oliver and the team in succeeding where many other firms have failed - in sourcing and offering a genuinely ULTRA-fine form of good old fashioned scottish oats.\r\n\r\nThey really do mix easily - like another reviewer, I simply add a 40g scoop to a large glass/beaker of protein shake and water (or sometimes even milk) - and stir WITH A FORK - and it still mixes quickly and easily - no grit.\r\n\r\nThanks guys.\r\n\r\nPrash.

Anyone undergoing serious training, regardless of whether it is weight lifting or running, needs a substantial supply of high quality complex carbohydrates. Which is precisely what the oats provide extremely low GI, slow releasing carbohydrate, together with some fibre and some good fats. The oats have been ground up so fine as to make a powder than mixes very well with liquid provided enough liquid is used, this makes it incredibly useful for making a \"meal replacement\" shake consisting of oats + whey perfect for bulking that can quickly and easily be consumed whilst working.\r\n \r\nTaste is OK and rather bland drinking them is rather like drinking liquidised porridge. A slightly nutty taste and slightly sandy texture. Perfectly palatable, but I wouldn't say that I enjoy the flavour particularly.\r\n \r\noats in general are a very inexpensive highly nutritious grain although a little pricey for what they are, they are ground up so fine that you would not be able to achieve anything like the same result at home using regular oats and a blender (not to mention the fact that it wouldn't be worth the effort, and your blender probably wouldn't last very long!).

I normally put my oats in a food processor and it comes out almost as fine as these, but it's not quite the same, as well as taking up a fair amount of time. \nI find that putting in 200g with 600ml of water doesn't taste too bad, and gives a decent amount of complex carbs to help me get the number of kcals i need for the day. \nGood job myprotein.

I have tried a lot of bulking products as I have a fast metabolism. This is the first that isn't sickly and although it doesn't taste great, you don't get sick of it after a few days. In response to the comment about not being able to mix well, if you get the lumps out of the dry powder with a spoon before you add water then it mixes well. Also very cheap.

Oat is the only cereal containing a globulin or legume -like protein, avenalin, as the major (80%) storage protein. Globulins are characterized by water solubility because of this property, oats may be turned into milk but not into bread. The more typical cereal proteins such as gluten and zein are prolamines. The minor protein of oat is a prolamine: avenin. \n\nOat protein is nearly equivalent in quality to soy protein, which has been shown by the World Health Organisation to be equal to meat, milk, and egg protein without the harmful levels of cholesterol often associated with animal based products. The protein content of the hull-less oat kernel groat ranges from 12–24%, the highest among cereals.\n\nUnlike steroids, oat power stays with you, I swear by Oats if you want increased strength

    --

\r\nMP: You are adding nearly 200g of powderin that shake. You will need to add at least 700-1000ml of liquid we guess to make a smooth drink. The more powder in the shake, the more liquid is required.

This is a 'does what it says on the tin' product. It adds carbs easily and cleanly. Its cheap, and its oats, so dont expect the best taste in the world.\n\nI personally didn't like the oaty flavour when added to my protein shake as it just overpowered the shake. The easiest way to get arround this is simple:\nBuy some Nesquik milkshake powder and add to your shake. Tastes amazing and adds a few more calls.\n\nBottom Line... Its oats, simple and pure, oats are rough, oats taste like oats. If you keep this is mind then you will be ok.

I've always had problems cramming in enough oats for a proper meal, but now I can easily drink 100g of oats in a fraction of the time it took me to eat 50g. These come as a fine powder (the same as whey) and mix superbly in a shaker cup, giving you a tasty oaty mixture perfect for a healthy dose of complex carbs when you don't have the time for a full meal.

The oats are as fine as flour and mixes in your shakes really well, can't get normal oats blended this fine-just doesnt work. They do sink to the bottom though when left a while so just keep shaking as you drink them. I mix 100g oats with 350ml semi skim milk with 20g of protein = gives around 630cal, 35g pro, 90g carbs and 15g fat! I have it in the morning for breakfast (i can't stomach eating in the morning but i can handle this) and again mid afternoon and again on the night. Great for whatever your goals just adjust the amount, helps pack on size while keeping the fat low. A great source of carbs that provides you with sustained energy. Highly recommended

I've found when trying to bulk up, most carbs just bloat me, Oats without a doubt are the best source of carbs i've used, I feel strong during work outs and seem to pack on mass without increasing inches around the mid section. I have 1/2 scoops of whey impact (chocolate, giving 20/40g protein)) and 2 scoops of oats (giving 60g carbs) with 300 ml of water, 3 - 4 times a day, with my meals. Mixes really well. Adds good clean carbs to the diet for not that much cost. Sure, I could blend the oats myself, but I've never had oats as fine as these. It's like fine sand. The taste is alright. It tends to give things a bit of an oaty taste and texture even at small amounts, but it's really just something I put in shakes which I chug down anyway so taste is not a big concern.

Not so keen with water as it doesn't mix aswell. Absolute bargain, I shall be purchasing more, hopefully you will do it in 5kg rather than just the 1kg.

Mix 100g oats with 1 scoop true whey (mp) and you have a weight gainer at a quarter of the price, i.e instant mass, progain and pro mass. Quality stuff, perfect mix and taste. Use dextrose, waxy maize or vitargo tho for pwo only as you need the insulin spike to drive growth.

I need the flavour so i dont have it just with water, but a friend has it with just water and he likes it so thats just personal preference. A good alternative to breakfast, if you wake up and just cant eat but need to kickstart your metabolism. I use it to supplement my diet. Awesome product. Tom Bamber

The first time I used it to make porridge, it didn't turn out so well, full of lumps and a bit difficult to eat.\n\nBut the second time, I whisked it a bit first to break it up (I used 30g of oats in 200ml of skimmed milk), then stirred it a bit for every 30 secs in the microwave (around 2 mins total), et voila, much better!\n\nIt's tasty and very filling, much more so than the popular brands.

I baught 1kg of ultra fine oats, with the intention of adding it to my protein shakes when working. In some jobs it's just not possible to accommodate a 5/6 meal a day diet, so at snack times, one of these shakes gives a hit of protein and some slow burning carbs to keep energy consistant. I find the oats mix fine and taste great - so have just got me a 5kg bag to munch through. Thanks MyProtein!

Truely excellent product. Why? The taste is good, its of actual oats. Mixes well to a thin shake with 600ml water, does require a swirl when reaching the bottom as it settles if left for too long before consumption, so drink fast after shaking. As for the effects, I have been on it for about 3 weeks, and the energy I have for the gym is brilliant, having a shake about 40-50 mins before is very beneficial, been able to do, not like massively much more, but had a bit more endurance on low weights and could squeeze a few more reps on the tough deadlifts and benchpress. Works well as both Pre and Post workout, although its generally better to have maltodextrin post workout as its fast digested and absorbed. Through and through, amazing product.

Just blend the oats on thier on, till they are as fine as dust, add the rest of your ingredients. \n\nHaving them already turned to dust would help anyone mixing up a shake without a blender (post work out, at work etc)\n\n\nBTW, poridge (oats and hot water) was used to feed slaves in ancient times and seen as a very cost effictive way of fueling the slave work force.

Good easily blended carb source which makes getting 300-400grams of carbs into you daily a lot easier. it also beats eating 500grams of porridge a day which very quickly becomes bland and sickening. for the guys complaining about lumps i reccomend they invest in a Braun 300 watt hand blender (not the ones with the holes in the sides of the umbrella which cover the blades which dont work).

I have to say that I am really surprised with this. After trying various carb drinks, all of which have such a sweet taste like putting a kilo of sugar in ur protein shake, I finally got this. I don't know any other webstore selling this, but it is brilliant. I use 2 scoops with 2 scoops of whey isolate from MP, and I have made the best weight gain drink in the planet. The isolate flavours a very vague when mixed with water. But add the UFSH it gives it a unique, fine taste. Not gritty as such, but more soft. I had bought the 1kg bag out of fear that I may not like it, as I found with the palatinose. But I will be getting the 5kg bag next time. Highly recommended. I could drink 5 or 6 of these "home made" weight gainers. And although I don't use the scales people have stated how I look a bit larger, in just 1 week. Excellent. I doubt that I will be using any other product combinations for protein/carbs. Maltodextrin, is now an outdated concept !!!!

These are amazing value for money and I think they taste great mixed with milk and some chocolate impact whey isolate. My favourite post workout shake.\n\nMy one concern with these is that I do not believe they are low GI as Myprotein state. Standard whole oats are at least 50 on the GI (medium GI) and with this being in a more bioavailable, flour-like form I would expect the GI to be even higher (70+). Try comparing the GI of Wheat with that of Wheat Flour to see what I mean.\n\nUntil Myprotein can get these tested and give a definitive answer to what the GI actually is then I would only use them in post workout shakes. If you want to use them as a meal replacement then I would look at Aktivated Barley instead as that does have a low GI as well as lots of other great nutrients.
