Overview

Milk Thistle (Silybum Marianum) is an herb that has been used for thousands of years to treat various ailments and afflictions. The active ingredient of Milk Thistle is a flavonoid called Silymarin, which acts as a powerful antioxidant said to protect liver cells from toxins. Sylimarin has also been noted to promote liver cell protein synthesis and decrease the oxidation of glutathione.

Milk Thistle has been used almost exclusively to enhance liver health. It is a very powerful antioxidant, and as such helps to remove toxic elements from the body. When the liver is damaged by alcohol consumption, pollutants, or any other environmental factor, Milk Thistle has been said to help the liver to generate new liver cells.

Suggested Use

As a dietary supplement we recommend consuming 100 - 200mg, 1 to 3 times daily.

Add one third of an MP mini scoop (100mg) to your preferred amount of water or fruit juice and consume immediately.

1 x level MP Plastic Scoop (mini) weighs 300mg (0.3g).

As a long term user of milk thistle (for liver support during Candida die-off), it's great to be able to buy such a huge quantity so cheaply. Only downside is the taste and mixability. I've discovered that a spoonful of plain yoghurt absorbs the powder and masks the taste brilliantly - problem solved!

I would like to agree with what the other person reviewing this said. I have been adding this to a small pot of yoghurt. You can tell it is in there as the texture and taste ae ever so slightly different, but it makes it a lot easier to take. \n\nTried it mixed in a sports drink as well and found it tasted quite strong and didn't mix in properly. It also kept repeating on me doing it this way.\n\nWould've given it 5 if it has mixed with anything, so dropping the score because it won't.

Im not sure on the exact effects as i havent had a liver test but my well being has been excellent. I started trying to mix the powder with water but this didnt work as it doesnt dissolve so now i take a table spoon of powder and wash it straight down which is alot more effective as the taste of this stuff isnt good.
